Fall is in the air with this Instant Pot Apple Crisp with Pumpkin! The perfect treat for a cool fall day.
The Instant Pot is not just for making dinner but is also great for cooking up a warm dessert. I’ll be honest I knew you could bake in the instant pot but I hadn’t tried it until making this Instant Pot Apple Crisp with Pumpkin. I was hesitant to try it because I wasn’t sure how the quality of the baked goods would come out compared to baking in an oven. Well I am here to say this apple pumpkin crisp is a winner! I knew the Instant Pot
would cook the apples well but I was concerned the crisp would come out soggy. But guess what, it didn’t! The topping was crispy and crunchy, just as it should be.
So what makes this dish different from your average apple crisp (other than it being made in the instant pot)? The pumpkin. In the fall I am all about apple and pumpkin everything, especially when they are combined into one! The pumpkin in this recipe helps add some moisture to cook the apples in the instant pot as well as give the dish a hint of pumpkin flavor. Not a huge pumpkin pie fan but like pumpkin flavored foods? Then this recipe is for you! It is also a great way to introduce pumpkin to your kids who might love apples but haven’t quite got a liking for pumpkin yet.
This dish was a major hit by my son and I am looking forward to making it again (multiple times!) this fall and winter with my son.
