You deserve to have your food needs respected.
Navigating meals, family gatherings, and social situations can be challenging when you have ARFID, especially when others don’t understand your needs.
Maybe you’ve struggled to ask for a familiar food, felt uncomfortable declining something offered to you, or found yourself explaining why you eat differently.
Even when you know what you need, communicating those needs can bring up anxiety, guilt, or fear of judgment.
Self-advocacy isn’t about convincing others that your needs are valid. It’s about learning how to communicate them in ways that feel safe, authentic, and sustainable.
What You’ll Learn
Join licensed mental health counselor Rebecca Holohan for a practical, supportive workshop focused on navigating food-related needs, boundaries, and relationships.
You’ll explore how to:
Recognize common barriers to self-advocacy, including anxiety, rejection sensitivity, and fear of conflict.
Communicate food needs and request accommodations using assertive communication skills.
Set boundaries around unwanted comments, food pressure, and questions about eating.
Navigate the emotional discomfort that may arise before or after advocating for yourself.
Develop realistic self-advocacy strategies for holiday gatherings and everyday situations.
Who Is This Webinar For?
This workshop is designed for adults with ARFID, including those who experience sensory sensitivities, food-related anxiety, neurodivergence, or difficulty advocating for their needs.
Whether you’re learning to set boundaries for the first time or looking for ways to make self-advocacy feel more manageable, this workshop will offer practical tools you can adapt to your own needs.
