Meet Lauren

Hi there, I’m Lauren Sharifi, a registered dietitian nutritionist specializing in ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) and founder of ARFID Dietitian.

For over 16 years, I’ve worked in the field of dietetics, including 10 years in private practice supporting individuals with eating disorders. Today, I primarily support adults and caregivers navigating ARFID.

My work is rooted in a neurodivergent-affirming, nervous system-informed approach. I believe eating challenges deserve support that is compassionate, individualized, and grounded in safety, not pressure. Rather than focusing on compliance, I help clients better understand their relationship with food, honor sensory and nervous system needs, and build sustainable strategies that support nourishment and quality of life.

I am deeply committed to ongoing learning and to providing care that is more affirming, inclusive, and informed by the voices of those with lived experience.

I currently work virtually with clients in Massachusetts and in select other states in the US. I also offer professional supervision and trainings for organizations and groups seeking to better understand affirming support for ARFID.
